Any member of the club or any visitor may attend OPEN portions of meetings. When magic secrets will be revealed, that meeting (or portion of an OPEN meeting) is CLOSED and is restricted to members of the club and fellow magicians who can show proof of membership in a recognized magician's organization.

If a person is attending an OPEN meeting of the club and is not able to show proof of membership in a recognized magician's organization, he will be asked to leave the meeting hall while the club engages the CLOSED portion of the meeting. The objective is not to offend anyone, but rather do the club's duty to protect the secrets of illusions.

Note that occasionally entire meetings of The Fort Worth Magicians Club are CLOSED. These are usually the occasional meetings when the club brings in an out-of-town magician who lectures and reveals a vast array of magic secrets.

The decision whether a meeting or part of a meeting is OPEN or CLOSED is determined by the Executive Committee. The Executive Vice President and Program Chairman is then responsible for notifying THE FLASPAPER Editor before a scheduled meeting so that members can be notified via THE FLASHPAPER monthly club newsletter. It is the responsibility of the Sergeant at Arms to verify who may attend CLOSED meetings or CLOSED portions of OPEN meetings.
